Qualifications for Membership

• Membership in the Chorus is by audition only.
• Auditions take place twice annually, August and late December or early January. Singers prepare a piece of music in their key, and bring an additional, legible copy for the Chorus accompanist who will be provided.
• All members are required to have a reasonable skill at music reading, choral or solo background and experience, and love to sing!
• The Chorus performs 3 to 4 concerts each semester, i.e., a Holiday Concert and a Spring Concert. The Chorus does not meet or rehearse from the latter part of May through the summer, unless the member is participating in a Chorus trip abroad. Typically, rehearsals begin on the first Tuesday after Labor Day in the Fall.
• Members are expected to attend rehearsals once a week, typically Tuesday evenings, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start time.
• Members are required to participate in all performances. Dates are announced at the beginning of each semester, if not sooner.
• There are fees involved per semester part of which are tax deductible. Additionally, each Chorus member pays for, and owns, his or her music per semester. It is expected that all music will be memorized for the performances.
• There are special Chorus outfits that can be ordered through one of the Chorus volunteers.
• Chorus members are expected to have a deep love of choral singing so as to share their talents, at whatever level, with each other and our faithful Chorus followers. We strive for excellence while thoroughly enjoying ourselves and improving our vocal skills!
