Audition for Blackhawk Chorus
Interested in Joining Us?
We take new members twice a year prior to the start of each season. You will be asked to prepare and sing a song of your choosing, as well as demonstrate sight-reading ability and run vocal exercises with our director. You need to read and memorize music and have previous chorus experience.
Our membership has a wide variety of musical experience and backgrounds. What brings us together and makes us successful is a love of music, ability to work well in a large group and a commitment to being an active, contributing member of the chorus.
**Auditions for Blackhawk Jazz and Bella Voce take place in the fall semester, and placement is for fall and spring semesters.**
Important Information!
Rehearsals
Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm in the ballroom of Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, except during the summer break (late May through August) and winter break (end of December).
Self practice
Members prepare for rehearsals using the sheet music and digital music practice files provided.
Performances
Typically three or four, both in May and December.
Dues
$150 per semester, part of which is tax deductible. Additionally, members must purchase performance attire.
